It is verse 255 of Surah 2. This verse has many benefits, and is recited often for protection from evil. Hadith: Prophet Muhammad said 'Whoever recites Aaayat ul-Kursi immediately after each prescribed Prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death.' Narrated by an-Nasaaee. Imaam Al-Albaanee authenticated it in Saheeh al Jam i as-Sagheer: 64642 Hadith: Imam Ahmad recorded that Ubayy bin Ka`b said that the Prophet asked him about the greatest Ayah in the Book of Allah, and Ubayy answered, 'Allah and His Messenger know better.' When the Prophet repeated his question several times, Ubayy answered, 'Ayat Al-Kursi.' The Prophet commented, 'Congratulations for having knowledge, O Abu Al-Mundhir!
By He in Whose Hand is my soul! This Ayah has a tongue and two lips with which it praises Allah next to the Throne.' Ayat al Kursi - Quran 2-255 Recitation of A yatul Kursi Results in the Focus of Allah (swt) upon His Servants When Allah, the Noble and Grand, commanded the verse (mentioned at the end of this tradition) to descend down to the Earth, they (the verses) attached themselves to the Throne (of Allah) and said, ‘O Lord! Where are you sending us to? 2:255 Allah—there is no god except Him—is the Living One, the All-sustainer.
Neither drowsiness befalls Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that may intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they do not comprehend anything of His knowledge except what He wishes. His seat embraces the heavens and the earth and He is not wearied by their preservation, and He is the All-exalted, the All-supreme.
2.257: Allah is the wali of the faithful: He brings them out of darkness into light. As for the faithless, their awliya are the fake deities, who drive them out of light into darkness. They shall be the inmates of the Fire, and they will remain in it forever.
